Upload and Monetize Videos

A guide to uploading and monetizing content on Rad

It’s time to upload your first video!

  1. Click Upload New Video

    • Rad supports a wide range of video file types including WEBM, MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and MXF

    • Video files must be less than 8GB in size

    • Max resolution is 4K (3840 x 2160)

This file selection screen will pop up

  1. Click the '+ Add More Videos' button at the top left and select the videos you want to upload to your channel (5 videos can be uploaded at once)

  2. Click Upload Files

    After clicking ‘upload files’ you will see a progress bar

    Once the upload is complete you will see that your files have been uploaded successfully

    You will now be redirected to your creator studio page where you can view and edit your uploaded content

Now it’s time to set the metadata for your videos

  1. To get started click the edit button on the video you want to edit metadata for

You will be taken to a page where you can edit metadata and upload a thumbnail for your video that looks like this

At any point you can hit the 'Save' button to save your progress and come back later to complete your work

  1. Set the title of your video

  2. Add a summary and links

  3. Upload a thumbnail image that will be displayed everywhere your video is shown on rad

    • This image needs to be a JPG, PNG, GIF, or SVG file that is 1920x1080 (16:9) - Max file size is 200MB

  4. Set Video Visibility

    1. All videos start off ‘Protected’ which means only you can see them

    2. If you want your video to be publicly available click the 'Video Visibility' dropdown box and select public

  5. Choose Video Category: You can choose which category your video belongs in. This gives your video more visibility and better discoverability across rad apps.

    • Select which category you want this video in

    • Once you have filled out everything on this form and it all looks as you want it to click the 'Next' button at the bottom of the form

  6. Monetization: After you click the ‘Next’ button you will be taken to the monetization page where you can select how/if you would like to monetize this piece of content

    • There are 3 monetization options:

      1. No Monetization: Selecting this option will make your video freely available for all rad users to watch

        • If you want to make your video free for rad users to view you can click the ‘publish video’ button

After you click the publish video button you will be taken back to your creator studio page

Click the ‘Preview’ button to see what your video page looks like and to test out the playback

From the Preview page you can click the play button to watch the video

You have now uploaded your video and are ready to share it with the world! Great work!

  1. Click the share button to either copy the direct link to your video’s page or share your video to X or facebook

  1. Select how you would like to share your video page
